What Can Teachers See?

The dynamic Stats and Achievements pages are only available in the student environments, not in the Insight Dashboard. However, students can send their teacher a snapshot of each page through Student-Teacher messaging. To jump ahead to those directions, click here.

Expanding a Lesson Group

When students select a lesson group star, the star expands to show lesson cards representing each lesson they have completed, are currently playing but have paused, and new lessons that may pop up next in their Lesson Chooser. The expanded lesson group also shows the three types of DreamBox lessons and which types the student has been playing.

Lesson Cards

Inside the expanded lesson group, each lesson card shows three things about the lesson:

Lesson Types

The symbol at the top of the lesson card indicates the lesson type. Students can play three types of lessons in DreamBox Math.

ExploringNoWings.small.jpg Exploring & Sense Making The student becomes more familiar with a concept by exploring a manipulative or model.
StructureNoWings.small.jpg Looking for Structure & Relationships The student builds understanding as they complete tasks that require them to discover mathematical structures, determine relationships, and apply more advanced strategies.
FluenceyNoWings.small.jpg Fluency, Application & Procedural Skills The student practices skills they have demonstrated they understand to develop fluency and flexibility.

Additional Lesson Type Resources

Talking with students about each lesson type will help them assess and approach lessons in DreamBox Math and give them a better understanding of what they have achieved. The Resources page of the educator dashboard provides more information about each lesson type, including its purpose, types of learning tasks the student will encounter, and tips for working with students playing that lesson type.
