Reading Park: Overview for School Families

Want to learn more about Reading Park and what students will learn as they play? This article walks families through an overview of the program, including what students will see and do as they play lessons and explore the park.

What is Reading Park?

DreamBox Reading Park is a research-based digital reading program for grades PreK – 2. As students play lessons and interact with characters in a playful learning environment, they develop phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, phonological awareness, and fluency skills. Students can log in to their account and play at school and at home, and Reading Park will start where they left off and share student progress with their teacher.

Inside Reading Park, students will:

Meet the squiggle monsters and explore Reading Park.   Work through adaptive, interactive Lesson Quests.   Review what they've learned in their Squiggle Book.

Best Practices for Playing at Home

How much should my child play Reading Park?

DreamBox recommends that students play Reading Park for 30 minutes each week, spread over 3 to 5 days.

Should I help my child if they are struggling during a lesson?

Since Reading Park adapts to each learner as they complete lessons, it’s important to let your child work through lesson concepts on their own.
