This article outlines how students choose Reading selections, bookmark their current lesson, and exit a Reading selection.
Choosing Reading Selections
When students engage with the Reading component they are afforded a high level of choice and control over their experience.
- From the student Dashboard screen, click Start Lessons or select the Lessons tab.

- When the Lessons screen opens, select Reading.

- From the Selection screen, students can choose between eight different student-friendly interest categories and filter by fiction or nonfiction to find the text selections that appeal to their interests and spark curiosity.

| Note: If the student has already started and bookmarked a Reading lesson, instead of seeing the Selection screen, they will return to where they left off in the lesson. |
Bookmarking a Reading Selection
If a student logs out of the reading component before completing a Reading lesson, the program will save their place within the lesson, or "bookmark" it. When the student opens lessons again they will see the same lesson screen where they left off. Student will have the option to continue from where they left off or reread the text from the beginning.
Exiting a Reading Selection to Choose a Different One
Exiting from the Title Screen or Interest Builder
Sometimes, after choosing a reading selection, students may find a text is not what they expected and may wish to shoose something different. After a student chooses a selection, they can click the Back button from the first two screens they see to return to the Selection screen and choose a different selection.

Exiting after re-opening a Reading Selection
When a student returns to a bookmarked selection, the student will have the option to continue from where they left off or reread the text from the beginning. If the student chooses to reread from the beginning, the student will have access to the Back button on the interest build screen and can use the button to exit and return to the Selection screen to choose something new.
