The first day of school is just around the corner, and now is the best time to make sure all of your DreamBox products are ready when teachers need them. Below is our recommended timeline and technical set-up task lists that should ensure DreamBox Math, Reading Plus, and/or Reading Park is ready when you need it.
Before the End of the School Year |
1) Discuss and confirm the following information with your DreamBox representative.
Rostering Method & Timeline
- Will you share your rosters using the same method you used last school year for each product? (Clever, ClassLink, DreamBox Automated Roster Management, or Insight Roster Upload)
Note: If this is your first time sharing rosters with DreamBox or you will use a different rostering or authentication method this year, you must complete our Integrations & Access Request Form. |
- How much time do you need to prepare updated rosters for the new school year in your system before you upload them or share them with DreamBox?
- When will you share your rosters with DreamBox? Will you share them at different times for different products?
Note: When determining this date, please plan for your roster updates to take up to two business days to process after they are received by DreamBox, depending on the method you use. |
DreamBox Math Launchpad & Placement
- For Math: Will you be using the DreamBox Math Launchpad Assessment to place students at the beginning of the new school year? If so, how will teachers in your district know this and know where to send questions or get support?

Internal Communication Method & Timing
- How will teachers in your district know when DreamBox Math, Reading Plus, and/or Reading Park is ready to use? Do you want DreamBox Customer Support to send teachers an email letting them know when their classroom is ready, or would you prefer to take care of this internally?
2) Review what features will be released for the new school year.

Three Weeks Before Launch |
1) Prepare and share roster data for the new school year.
- Work with your IT team or Scheduler to finalize your classroom rosters.
- Send the roster data to DreamBox Customer Support through one of the options at the bottom of this article. Contact DreamBox Customer Support with any questions.
2) Set up professional development.
- Prepare your DreamBox Professional Development session/s by communicating the dates, times, and room and device reservations with your teachers.
- (If you have not scheduled Professional Development for your new and returning teachers, please contact your DreamBox Account Representative)
3) If you are using DreamBox Math: Sign into your dashboard and check your school year dates on the Reports page.
The Growth Report and Launchpad will be available the first day of your school year as it exists in the DreamBox Math system. If the dates are incorrect, your students and staff will not have access to some Math reports and features when the school year begins.

4) Communicate launch timeline with your district staff.
- Share the DreamBox Math, Reading Plus, and/or Reading Park launch timeline with your staff and stakeholders, including when the new school year rosters will be set up, and when the Professional Development session will take place.
Two Weeks Before Launch |
1) Prepare and share roster data for the new school year (If you haven't yet).
- Review back-to-school rostering tips for the method/s you are using, and consult the rostering resources linked below (if needed).
- Share your classroom rosters and contact DreamBox Customer Support if you need assistance.
2) Review launch and implementation best practice resources.
- For Math: Review the DreamBox Implementation Guide.
One Week Before Launch |
1) Share resources with district staff.
- Share the online learning and implementation resources your staff may need, many of which they can access easily through their educator dashboard.

2) Confirm professional development was delivered.
- Attend a DreamBox Professional Development session (or sessions) with your staff.
3) Confirm all district devices are ready.
- Schedule lab/cart time and prepare the devices (install and update web browsers, create bookmarks on desktops and laptops, and install iPad apps).
