DreamBox Math Educator Dashboard: View or Edit Dashboard Permissions

Not all educators can edit students, teachers, and classroom rosters in their DreamBox Math dashboard. Depending on your permission settings in DreamBox Math, you may not be able to edit some student and classroom details or have access to rostering tools in the dashboard. Continue reading to learn how to verify which type of permissions you have, how that affects what you can do in the dashboard, and what to do if you need to change your permissions.

What types of roster permissions can I have?

Two types of roster permissions affect what you can adjust in your dashboard Settings section: View Access and Edit Access.

With View Access:

See classroom rosters and student details on the Roster tab. Adjust student settings not associated with rosters,  like student login credentials, language in DreamBox, and learning environment.  Adjust classroom settings like engagement restrictions, password type, and academic standards in the Settings sections tabs.	Add or remove students in a classroom.  Create/update teachers or administrators in the Educators tab. (Administrators-only) Create classrooms, students, and staff members by uploading Student and Educator spreadsheets (Administrators-only) Update classroom rosters via the Bulk/Move Copy tab (Administrators-only)

With Edit Access:

You Can

• See and adjust classroom rosters, including adding or removing students.
• Adjust student engagement, language, and other student settings
• Create/update teachers or administrators in the Educators tab. (Administrators-only)
• Create classrooms, students, and staff members by uploading Student and Educator spreadsheets (Administrators-only)
• Update classroom rosters via the Bulk/Move Copy tab (Administrators-only)

How do I know if I have View or Edit permissions?

Sign in to your Insight dashboard and select the Settings icon.

At the top of the page, you will see a banner indicating what kind of permissions you have.

What do I do if I need to change my permissions?

If you need Edit Access or are wondering why your dashboard editing permissions changed, please reach out to the IT administrative team in your district that creates and updates rosters in DreamBox. They will be able to manage specific requests in alignment with your school or district’s roster management security practices.
