DreamBox Math: How Students Sign in on an iPad (Educators)

Students can log into DreamBox Math on an iPad two ways. Your district or school should have clarified which method your students should use to sign in. This article walks through each of the ways a student can log into DreamBox Math on an iPad.

Which Login Method Does Your Student Use?

There are several ways students log in to DreamBox Math on an iPad.

Discovery Education Login

Students can sign in using Direct Discovery Education sign-in credentials, a Discovery Education QR code, or their Single Sign-On credentials.

Preparing Your iPad and Gathering the Login Information You Need

Before you begin, make sure the following apps have been downloaded on the iPad, or updated to the most recent version.

  • Clever app (text passwords & Badge sign in
  • ClassLink Launchpad app (text password sign-in)
  • ClassLink QuickCard app (QuickCard sign-in)

To make sure the sign-in process goes as smoothly as possible, make sure you know how the student will sign in and have their credentials ready. 

  • If a student will type their username and password to log in, you need the student’s district single sign-on username and password.
  • If the student will use a Clever Badge or ClassLink QuickCard, make sure you have these ready.

You can navigate to the Clever Portal or the ClassLink Launchpad via Safari, but using the Clever or ClassLink app will provide a more streamlined and independent experience for students.

Signing in with Single Sign-On

  • Tap the Clever, ClassLink Launchpad, or ClassLink QuickCard app, and follow the directions to log in using text password, Clever Badge, or ClassLink Quick Card.

Getting an error due to the student’s username or password?

  • When the app opens, select the DreamBox Math icon. The student's Math account will open and they can start playing.

Support Icon-DBL-Tip Box_50px.png Students' SSO login credentials are created and managed by your school or district. Our Customer Support team does not have access to them. If you need to verify your students' login credentials please contact your district IT department.


 

Signing in with Direct Login

Before you begin, make sure you have downloaded the DreamBox Math app, or updated it to the most recent version.

Have the following student sign-in information ready: 

  • Direct DreamBox Math URL
  • Student Classroom Code (needed for picture password login)
  • Student credentials (username, text or picture password)

  • If the student uses a picture password: They need to be able to recognize their DreamBox Math name & avatar image, and the image they select to log in. 
  • If the student uses a text password: They need their username and password. 

Signing in via Direct Login

  • Tap the DreamBox Math app and select School.

  • Enter your school's unique school code and tap the play button.

  • You will only have to enter this code once for each device unless the Math app is deleted.

  • After the screen updates, students can log in in one of two ways:

Text Username and Password
Students enter their username and password in the Text Login box.

Classroom Code and Picture Password
Students will:

  • Enter their classroom code
  • Tap their student avatar

  • Select their picture password.

We value our students' security and privacy, so it is not possible to save a classroom code or password. This greatly minimizes the risk that a student or teacher account can be accessed by an unauthorized user, especially through a shared device or by someone outside of school.

Sign-in Troubleshooting FAQs

Q: How do I validate a student’s username or password?

A: Students' login credentials are created and managed by your school or district. DreamBox Customer Support does not have access to them and will not be able to assist you if you reach out. 

  • Educators: Reach out to your district IT department.
  • Families: Contact your student’s teacher. 

 

Q: I don’t have my student’s Clever Badge or ClassLink QuickCard. How do I get them? 

A: We recommend you either reach out to your student’s teacher, your district IT (educators only), or use the Clever and ClassLink support articles below:
