iPad Settings Restrictions
DreamBox Learning may not be recognized as a "safe" site by your firewall settings and needs to be added to allowed websites on an iPad. If you see a "Waiting to Connect" error, this can also be resolved by adjusting restrictions. Click here to open directions on how to review and adjust restrictions on an iPad.
iPad Mute Switch
Even though this seems obvious, sometimes the Mute switch is turned on. If you can see a red dot next to your mute switch, it means the switch is turned on and you should toggle the switch the other way and turn the volume up. Also, double-check that you haven't set the mute switch to Lock Rotation instead of Mute. Navigate to Settings General Use Side Switch to mute system sounds
If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the VOLUME button will mute system sounds.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation, then the system sound control is in the taskbar. Double-tap the home button *(If you are using iOS 12, swipe from the top right of the screen to the bottom right). The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
What if you don't have a mute switch?
This is for the newer models of iPads. Both the Rotation Lock and Notification Mute are controlled via the Control Center. Double-tap the home button *(If you are using iOS 12, swipe from the top right of the screen to the bottom right) and check the settings on the top right to verify the bell doesn't have a slash through it. Also, verify the volume in the middle of the screen shows at least half white.
Is Do Not Disturb On?
Another setting to check is the iPad's Do Not Disturb feature. Go to Settings Do Not Disturb to verify this is not enabled. You can also toggle this setting on and off via Control Center by double-tapping the home button. Find the crescent moon, and if it is highlighted, that means it is on.
Is your Bluetooth turned on?
Sometimes your iPad is connected to a Bluetooth device, so go to Settings Bluetooth to turn off Bluetooth and re-try our app.
