DreamBox Math school and district administrators may be able to update an educator's DreamBox Math role from the Educator tab in the dashboard. This includes:
- Make a teacher an administrator at a specific school or across the district.
- Assign a school administrator to a different school, or additional schools.
- Remove district or school administrator permissions from an educator.

Opening an Educator Account for Editing
Step 1: Sign in to your Dreambox Math educator dashboard.

Step 2: Open the Educator tab.
- Select the Settings icon and then select the Educators tab.
Step 3: Confirm you have Edit access in the dashboard.
Depending on your district's roster management settings, you will have Edit or View access in the Educators tab.
- To determine your access type, open the Educators tab and check the banner near the top of the page.
- If the banner shows you have View permissions, you can see educator accounts but not update them.

Step 4: Find the educator
- Update the School and Role drop-downs to locate the educator account you wish to edit, and then click the Edit button.

Note: Even if you have editing permissions, you may see that the Edit button is greyed out for specific educators. This indicates that this educator account is being created or edited in our system, and the staff member is temporarily unavailable for editing. |

Note: If your district IT team is sharing this educator via your automated rostering method, the educator role will retain the update you made in the dashboard, even if their role is different in the district rostering files. |
Making a Teacher a School or District Administrator
Only a DreamBox District administrator can update an educator to be a District administrator. Need to make a School administrator a District administrator? Follow the directions below and select District Admin as the role. |
To make a teacher a school or district administrator in DreamBox:
- After you have opened the educator's settings for editing, the educator's settings will default to the My Profile tab.
- In the Role section, click the educator's current role and select School or District Admin from the drop-down list.
- If you are a district administrator and are updating a teacher to a school administrator, you will be prompted to select a school. Click Add School, select a school from the drop-down list, and then click Add.
- After you have added the new role, click Update to save your changes.

Need to make a District administrator a School administrator? Follow the directions below, select School Admin as the role, and then select a school. |
To remove school or district administrator permissions and make the educator a teacher in DreamBox:
- After you have opened the educator's settings for editing, the educator's settings will default to the My Profile tab.
- In the Role section, click the educator's current role and select Teacher from the drop-down list.
- Click Update to save your changes.
Updating the School Association of a School Administrator
When a school administrator needs to see another school, or be moved from one school to another in DreamBox Math, follow the directions below:
- After you have opened the educator's settings for editing, the educator's settings will default to the My Profile tab. From the My Profile tab.

Add the school the school admin should be associated with, and remove the one they should no longer be able to see in DreamBox Math.

- When you are finished with the changes you want to make, click Update.
