Reading Plus Educator Dashboard: How to Assign the Benchmark (InSight) Assessment to a Class (Teachers)

This article walks through how to assign each phase of the Reading Plus InSight assessment to an entire class or selected students in a class.

When Can Teachers Assign the InSight Assessment?

Teachers can assign students to three phases of assessment throughout the school year. 

Initial Assessment

Benchmark 1

Mid-Term Assessment

Benchmark 2

End-of-Term Assessment

Benchmark 3

Administered at the beginning of the school year.

Students will be automatically assigned to take the Initial Assessment the first time they log in.

Marks the starting point for student growth.

Administered mid-year after students have completed 40 or more Reading lessons. 

Administered at the end of the school year, after students have completed 80 or more lessons.

Assign the InSight Assessment to a Class 

• From the sidebar, click the Manage button, confirm the Classes tab is selected, and click the Settings link next to a class.

• When the Class Settings window opens, select the InSight Assessment tab, and click the Manage Assessment tile of the assessment you want to assign.

• When the class list appears, click the box at the top of the first column and click Assign Students at the bottom of the page.

• When the students appear in the ASSIGNED column, click OK to assign the assessment.
