Teachers and administrators may be able to add educators to an existing classroom or assign classrooms to an existing teacher from inside their dashboards. This article walks through the different methods teachers and administrators can use to add a teacher to or remove a teacher from a classroom.
How Do You Open DreamBox Settings?
Educators follow different steps to add or remove teachers from a classroom based on how their DreamBox Math educator dashboard is configured. The quickest way to determine which directions to follow is to sign into your educator dashboard and check if the Settings icon appears in the top navigation pane.

Open the Educators Tab and Select a Teacher
- Sign in to your dashboard, click the Settings icon, and then click the Educators tab.

- Adjust the Users, School, and Role drop-down filters to find the teacher you are looking for, and click the Edit button next to the name of the educator.

Adding a Teacher to a Classroom (Admin Instructions)
| The teacher must already exist in DreamBox Math. |
After you have opened the Educators tab and selected the teacher account you wish to edit:
- Click Add Classroom.

- The School field defaults to the school the teacher is associated with in the SCHOOL drop-down. In the CLASSROOM drop-down menu, click the arrow, select a classroom from the list, and then click Add.

- To save your changes, click Update. A quick confirmation message will appear next to the Update button so you know your changes were saved.

Removing a Teacher from a Classroom (Admin Instructions)
| At least one eudcator must be attached to a DreamBox Math classroom. |
After you have opened the Educators tab and selected the teacher account you wish to edit:
- In the Classrooms section, click the trash can icon next to the classroom you want to remove. The classroom name will disappear.

- Click Update to save your changes. A quick confirmation message will appear next to the Update button so you know your changes were saved.

Sign in to your dashboard, click the Settings icon, click the Class Settings tab, and select a classroom if needed.

- Scroll to the Teachers section at the bottom of the page, and click Add Teacher.

- Select the educator you want to add from the drop-down list, and then click the Add button.

- Scroll to the Teachers section at the bottom of the page and click the Trash can icon next to the educator you want to remove. Repeat this process to remove additional educators (if needed).

Roster Management: Administrator Instructions
Administrators can add or remove teachers from their classrooms using the My Admin tools in their Discovery Education dashboard. Depending which dashboard you are currently viewing, you will open My Admin in one of two ways:

Teachers can add or remove teachers from their classrooms from the My Classrooms page in their Discovery Education dashboard. Depending which dashboard you are currently viewing, you will open the DE Classroom Manager in one of two ways:

FAQs
| Q: What if a teacher does not have a DreamBox Math account? |
A: If a teacher is new to the district and does not exist in DreamBox Math, a DreamBox Math administrator can add them through the dashboard depending on their permissions and the way your district creates rosters in DreamBox Math.
- Teachers: Please contact your DreamBox Math site administrator if a teacher is missing.
- School or District IT coordinators: Your next steps depend on the rostering method you use.

A: For schools or districts created before 7/29/2025, DreamBox Math administrators and district IT teams are the only users who can create classrooms in DreamBox Math, using the school or district rostering method.
