DreamBox Math Educator Dashboard: How to Change the Classroom Password Type

From the educator dashboard, some teachers can select if all students in a classroom use Picture orText passwords or QR codes when they sign in to DreamBox Math through their direct DreamBox Math sign-in page. This article walks through how to update the password type based on a teacher's Math educator dashboard configuration.

The directions in this article are teacher-focused, but administrators can follow the teacher instructions as long as their Math educator dashboard is configured the same way as the teacher's.

How Do You Open DreamBox Settings?

Educators follow different steps to adjust how students sign in based on how their DreamBox Math educator dashboard is configured. The quickest way to determine which directions to follow is to sign into your educator dashboard and check if the Settings icon appears in the top navigation pane.

In the table below, find the image that matches your dashboard and click the link to jump to the correct instructions.

Drop-Down Menu	Educators cannot see the Settings icon in their DreamBox Math educator dashboard. From the Settings Icon: Adjusting the Password Type

If an educator can see and access the Settings icon at the top of  their DreamBox Math educator dashboard, they can select either picture or text passwords for their classroom.

This will not affect students who sign in via Single Sign-On (SSO), meaning students sign in through their district portal or a 3rd-party portal like Clever or ClassLink. Are you an administrator? To adjust a classroom password type from the Settings icon:

• Click the Settings icon, select the Class Settings tab, and select a class (if needed).

• Under Password Type, select Picture Password or Text Password.

• Click the Update button to save your changes.

From DreamBox Settings: Adjusting the Password Type

If an educator cannot see or access the Settings icon at the top of their DreamBox Math educator dashboard, they can either generate QR codes or text passwords for their students from their Discovery Education Classroom Manager tool.

This will not change the text passwords for students who sign in via Single Sign-On (SSO), meaning students sign in through their district portal or a 3rd-party portal like Clever or ClassLink. To open the Classroom Manager:

Depending which dashboard you are currently viewing, you will open the DE Classroom Manager in one of two ways:
