Changing a Student's Avatar in the DreamBox Math Grades 3-5 Learning Environment

This article will walk you through how you or a student can change their avatar in the grades 3-5 Learning Environments.

What Information Do You Need to Update a Student's Avatar?

• Student login method, username, and password.

• Confirm the student's account has enough coins to purchase the avatar. Most avatars cost between 100-600 coins. The student's coin total is posted at the top of the screen, in the navigation bar. 

If the student does not have enough coins to purchase a new avatar, they need to earn more coins by continuing to play and complete lessons.

Opening My Stuff

• Log in to the child's DreamBox Math account.

• Select My Stuff at the top of the screen.

• My Stuff will open to the Personalize page, where you can either:
  • Create or update an avatar.
  • Select a pre-created avatar.

If you see a different page when My Stuff opens, select Personalize.

Create or Update an Avatar

From the Personalize page:

• In the Avatars section, click the pencil icon.

If you see a different page when My Stuff opens, select Personalize.

• Select an option on each tab and then click the checkmark to save your changes and update the avatar.

• After you save changes you will see the new avatar in the Personalize page and at the top of the screen. Click the pencil icon to update the avatar.

Select a Pre-Created Avatar

• From the Personalize page:

  • Click the arrows in the Avatar section to search for the avatar the student wants and hover over an avatar to see the price. When you find the avatar the student wants, click the avatar image.

If you see a different page when My Stuff opens, select Personalize.

• When the avatar modal opens, either select the avatar or close the modal to keep looking.

• When you have found and purchased an avatar, the new avatar will replace the previous one at the top of the screen, and their coin total will reflect the avatar purchase.
