From the settings button in all DreamBox Math student environments, students can turn program music, sound, or closed captions on and off. Students whose preferred language is set to English can choose from four different narration voices.
Opening the Settings Window
To open the Settings window, click the settings icon in the toolbar of any learning environment.

Adjusting Music, Sound, or Closed Captions

To adjust the Music, Sound, or Closed Captions settings:
Note: If a student opts to turn off Sound, they will still hear lesson instructions and hints. |
- When the Settings window opens, click the Music, Sound, or Captions toggle to turn each setting on or off.

Adjusting Voice
(The images below are of the 3rd-5th grade environment)
Students can choose between four narration voices. To select a voice:
- When the Settings window opens, use the arrows on either side of the Voice setting to listen to the voice options.
- To select a voice, click the check mark.

Q: How can I turn up the volume in DreamBox Math? |
A: To address an issue with your device volume, we recommend these troubleshooting articles:
Q: My student turned off the sound in DreamBox Math. Why do they still hear lesson directions? |
A: Students will still hear lesson directions, hints, and story path stories (K-2 environment only) even if they turn off the Sound setting. Turning off the Sound setting will mute Background and transition music, and sound effects.
If students do not like the voice used for lesson directions and hints, we recommend they select an a different voice option in Settings (see directions above). |
