This article walks through how educators can move a student from the K-2nd grade learning environment to the 3rd-5th grade learning environment. The new environment only changes what students see as they select lessons and what incentives they can access, not the lesson content. Students will still have access to lessons in the K-2 curriculum.

How Do You Open DreamBox Settings?
Educators follow different steps to move students from the K-2nd grade learning environment to the 3rd-5th grade learning environment based on how their DreamBox Math educator dashboard is configured. The quickest way to determine which directions to follow is to sign into your educator dashboard and check the top navigation pane to see how you open program settings.

From the Settings Icon: Moving Students from the Grades K-2 to the 3-5 Environment
Teachers can manually move students from the K-2 to the 3-5 environment from the Settings icon in their dashboards. The new environment changes what students see as they select lessons and the incentives they can access, not the lesson content. Students will still have access to K-2nd grade lessons.

Important! Read before moving your students
|
- Click the Settings icon in the top navigation pane, select the Learning Environment tab, and if needed select the class.
- When the Learning Environment tab opens, you'll see the list of students working in the K-2nd grade environment and their enrolled school grade levels. Click the boxes next to the students who need the 3rd-5th grade environment.
- Click Update to confirm these are the students you want to move. The selected students will disappear from the list.

Selecting DreamBox Settings: Moving Students from the Grades K-2 to the 3-5 Environment
Teachers can manually move students from the K-2 to the 3-5 environment from the Settings icon in their dashboards. Moving Students from DreamBox Settings

- Sign into your Experience dashboard and open DreamBox Math.

- When your Math educator dashboard opens, click your name in the upper right corner and select DreamBox Settings.

When your DreamBox settings tabs open, select Classroom & Student Preferences. The Graduate Environment column shows:
Graduate to 3+ if the student can be moved to the 3rd-5th grade learning environment.
Graduation Unavailable if the student is already in the 3rd-5th or 6th-8th grade learning environment.

To move a student from the K-2nd grade environment to the 3rd-5th grade environment, click the Graduate to 3+ box next to each student who needs to move to the grades 3-5 learning environment, and then click Update.

When the confirmation box pops up to remind you that moving the student/s is permanent, either:
Click Return to Preferences and start the process again if you want to re-select the students
Select Confirm Updates to move the students.

- If you selected Confirm Updates, a notification will confirm the students have been moved, and the students will show Graduation Unavailable.

Moving Students to and from All Other Environments
The only environment update educators can make from their dashboards is moving students from grades K-2 to grades 3-5. For all other learning environment updates, please contact our Customer Support team.
FAQs
| Q: Why did students disappear when I updated their learning environment from the K-2nd grade environment to the 3rd-5th grade environment? |
A: The most likely cause of students disappearing from the Learning Environment tab is a learning environment update to the grades 3-5 environment. The Learning Environment tab only lists students who see the K-2nd grade environment when they sign in to DreamBox Math. Any student you update students' environment to the 3rd-5th grade environment will be removed from this list, because they are now in a different environment.
