This article focuses on customer Frequenty Asked Questions (FAQs) about the rostering process and specific methods.
Rostering Methods
| Q: Can teachers set up classrooms and add students in DreamBox Math? |
A: We recommend your school or district set up schools, classrooms, and educator and student accounts in DreamBox Math using one of the rostering methods outlined in this article.
- If your school district uses spreadsheet uploads (Math Insight Roster Upload or Discovery Education Bulk Import) to set up rosters, teachers can add or remove students from their classrooms if they need to make changes later in the year.
- If your school or district uses an automated rostering method like Clever or ClassLink with other programs, we recommend your district IT team set up classrooms and students in DreamBox Math.
| Q: Can our school start with a roster upload at first and transition to an automated method later without issues? |
A: This is possible, but we do not recommend it for several reasons:
- Student and educator account details must remain consistent so duplicate accounts are not created.
- Classroom names may change, which may be startling for teachers and could affect classroom-level reporting. If teachers had changed their classroom names after they were set up using roster upload, they will need to do this again.
- If teachers updated student details like changing a student name to a nickname, setting a student to play in Spanish, or other small updates, they may need to make these changes again.
- If you choose to use Clever Single Sign-On when the school transitions to Clever, students will need to learn a different sign-in process, including different login credentials.
