The InSight assessment can be used as a benchmark assessment to evaluate student growth in silent reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and motivation. This article provides an overview of the assessment and links to all DreamBox Reading resources focusing on the InSight assessment, including Professional Learning courses, printables, and help articles.
When Can Teachers Assign the InSight Assessment?
Teachers can assign students to three phases of assessment throughout the school year.
Initial AssessmentBenchmark 1 |
Mid-Term AssessmentBenchmark 2 |
End-of-Term AssessmentBenchmark 3 |
||
|
Administered at the beginning of the school year. Students will be automatically assigned to take the Initial Assessment the first time they log in.
|
Administered mid-year after students have completed 40 or more Reading lessons. | Administered at the end of the school year, after students have completed 80 or more lessons. |
| Teachers should never need to reassign the InSight assessment at the very beginning of the school year. If they have the option to do so it means that their school did not go through a site reset for the new school year, or the assessment section of the reset did not update. If this is true at your site, reach out to our Customer Support Team. |
