Exploring the Adventure Park

When students first enter the Adventure Park, they watch a video introduction of what they can see and do in the park, narrated by Stella.

Watch the video below of a new student signing in via Direct Login and following Stella's directions to choose their avatar and open the Adventure Park.

Story Themes & Story Paths

Each story theme includes a specific location, unique characters, and set of goals, or story paths. Each theme includes eight story paths, where students help the characters solve problems, find missing items, plant a garden, or plan a surprise party.

The Adventure Park is divided into six areas:

  • Story Themes: Pixies, Dinosaurs, Pet Friends, and Pirates
  • Learning Incentives: My House and the Arcade

Story Themes

To choose a theme to explore or enter the Arcade or My House, students click the landing pad next to the area they want to open.

Note: Story progress is NOT tied to math performance. As long as students play and complete lessons, they will complete tasks, discover goal pieces, and help the characters continue to progress towards completing stories.

Story Paths

When a student opens a theme for the first time, they are introduced to the characters and then choose a story path. The image below is of the Pixies theme.

After a student has selected a story path, they will learn what they need to accomplish in order to help the characters complete reach their goal. Each story path includes six tasks for students to complete. To accomplish the task, students need to select and complete lessons.

Lesson Paths

After choosing a theme, story, and task, students select and play lessons along the story path. The image on each lesson icon indicates the type of lesson activity and content. As students play and complete lessons, DreamBox Math assesses the next best lesson for them.

Lesson Path FAQs

Q: Will the lesson path change if a student moves to a different section of the Adventure Park?

A: The lesson order is independent of the story they choose. Students will see the same next-best lesson even if they change themes or stories or move back and forth between them as they play.

Note: After students choose a story path in a theme, they must complete all six tasks before selecting another path in the same theme. The student can pick a new story path inside a different theme.

Example: A student is helping the Pet Friends find the missing kittens. The student can't stop finding the kittens and start building a wheel cart in Pet Friends, but they could choose a story path inside one of the other themes.

Q: How does a student know when they finish a task inside a story path?

A: Students know they have completed a story task when they open the backpack and find a goal piece. They watch a short movie that shows them what happens next now that they have completed their task.

Watch the video below of a student completing a story path task in the Pixies theme.

How Do Students Move from the Grades K-2 to the Grades 3-5 Learning Environment?

Students will remain in the Grades K-2 Learning Environment until they are manually graduated to the Grades 3+ Learning Environment by a teacher. If a student completes all four of the Adventure Park story themes, the themes will reset and the student will start all the story paths over.
