DreamBox Math: School Family & Home Subscriber FAQs

This article compiles the most frequently asked questions from DreamBox Math school families and home subscribers. 

School Family Account Questions

Q: If I create a free school family account, will I be able to track my children's student progress year over year, or will I need to create a new account every year?

A: Yes, you will be able to track your student's progress year over year, even when they change grade levels and teachers.  If you create a free school family account and connect your child's school DreamBox Math account to it, you will be able to see your child's progress as long as they use DreamBox Math through their school.

Transferring Progress Between School and Home Account Questions

Q: If my child's school stops using DreamBox Math, can I purchase a home subscription?

A:  If you confirm that your child no longer has access via their school we would love to continue to support your child’s math skills on Dreambox Math via a home subscription, but be advised, you will be setting up a new account for your child. Their school progress will not transfer to their home subscription.

Q: Can I transfer my child's progress from their school DreamBox Math subscription to a home subscription?

A:  We are not able to transfer your child’s school data on DreamBox Math to your new home subscription. As a result, when you set up your home subscription you will be creating a new account for your child. 

Recommendations when creating a home subscription for your child if they used DreamBox Math at their school:

  • Sign in when prompted using the email you used to create your school Family dashboard.
  • Add your child to your account as a new child, using a slightly different version of their name than the one used on their school account. Our system requires that the first name of each student attached to a given email address is unique. 

Example: Your child’s name in their school account is ‘Xavier’.  When you create a new version of your child for your home subscription you call them ‘Xavier_home”, or use their first and middle name so the names are different.

Recommendations: We recommend starting your student in their upcoming grade level and giving your child time to complete 3-5 lessons each week. Studies show students who complete 3-5 or more lessons per week experience more learning growth than their peers who complete fewer.

Q: Will anything change on my family dashboard if I move my child from a school to a home subscription?

A:  Yes. You will have access to more features and capabilities in your home subscriber family dashboard, including the Assignments feature. Assignments allows you to assign specific topics for your child to explore, either to introduce new concepts or review content.

Q: If my child has a home subscription and their school starts using DreamBox in the future, will we be able to migrate her data to her school account?

A: No. If your child was using DreamBox Math via a home subscription and receive an account through their school, it will be a brand new account. This means:

  • Your child will start fresh on their DreamBox Math school account. They may repeat some lessons, but as they play and complete lessons the DreamBox Math system will learn and adapt to find the "just right" placement for them in their school account. 
  • You need to connect their new school account to your family dashboard so you can track their progress in the school account. You may get an error if their name in their school account and their name on your home subscription is the same. We recommend adjusting their name in their home subscription before connecting their new school account to your family dashboard.

Home Subscriber Account Questions

Q: Are there referral discounts available if I recommend DreamBox Math to other parents and they purchase subscriptions?

A:  Not at this time.

 

Q: How much does a DreamBox Math home subscription cost?

Q: Can I change an individual subscription to a family subscription from my DreamBox Math family dashboard?

A: Not at this time. Please reach out to our Customer Support Team so they can help you update your account. 

 

Q: Can I add another child to my family subscription from DreamBox Math family dashboard?

A: Yes!

 

Q: How long does the lifetime DreamBox Math home subscription last?

A: The lifetime subscription is a 10-year, non-renewing subscription. Our 10-year plan length is designed to support a student through all grade levels available with DreamBox Math. 

 

Q: Can I change an individual subscription to a family subscription from my DreamBox Math family dashboard?

A: Not at this time. Please reach out to our Customer Support Team so they can help you update your account. 

 

Q: What is your refund policy?

A:  If you are not completely satisfied with DreamBox Math you can cancel your subscription and get a full refund within 30 days of starting your DreamBox Math account. It's that simple. Your refund will be processed to your card within 2-3 business days.
