DreamBox Math Educator Dashboard: Edit Your Classroom Name and Settings

As a teacher, school-level administrator, or district-level administrator, you may be able to edit the overall classroom settings from your dashboard, including:

  • Changing classroom name
  • Updating classroom grade level
  • Changing classroom Password type
  • Changing what language students see (English or Spanish)
  • Updating Assignment settings (print program & Assessment framework)
  • Adding or removing teachers

Before You Begin

Confirm your permissions

Your DreamBox Math role and dashboard access permissions affect whether you can edit or view a classroom roster. Click here to learn more about dashboard rostering access and permissions.

Administrator Access to Teacher Settings

This article describes how to remove a student from a classroom from the Roster tab inside the Teacher Settings section. If you are a school or district-level DreamBox Math administrator, click here to learn how to open teacher Settings.

 

Opening Classroom Settings and Selecting a Classroom

  • Click the Settings icon in the top navigation pane, select the Class Settings tab, and if needed, select the Class.

Editing Classroom Name, Grade Level, or Password Type

Open teacher Settings and then the Class Settings tab. To update classroom details:

  • To update Classroom Name: Click inside the Name box and type the new name.

Note: Each classroom in a school must have a unique name.

 

  • To update Grade Level: Click the Grade Level drop-down list and select a different grade level.

Note:

  • This changes the grade associated with the classroom. It does not alter individual students' enrolled grade levels or placement. 
  • Selecting "multi-grade" or assigning multiple grade levels to a classroom is not an option.

 

  • To update Password Type: Click the Password drop-down list and select the new type. You can choose between Picture or Text passwords. 

 

  • All unsaved updates will be displayed in green text. If these are the only changes you want to make, click Update.

 

Editing Classroom Language, Print Program, or Assessment 

Open teacher Settings and then the Class Settings tab. To update classroom details:

  • To update the Language students will see and hear in DreamBox Math: Click the Language drop-down list and select a language. You can choose between English or Spanish.

 

  • To update the Assignments Print Program: Click the Print Program drop-down list and select a program.

  • To update the Assignments Assessment Framework: Click the Assessment drop-down list and select a different assessment (Quantile or aligned state NWEA frameworks).

Note: This may have been pre-selected by your DreamBox Math administrator. 

  • All unsaved updates will be displayed in green text. If these are the only changes you want to make, click Update

 

Adding or Removing Educators From a Classroom

Sign in and Select a Classroom

  • Sign in to your dashboard, click the Settings icon, click the Class Settings tab, and select a classroom if needed.

Adding a Teacher

  • Scroll to the Teachers section at the bottom of the page, and click Add Teacher.

  • Select the educator you want to add from the drop-down list, and then click the Add button.

  • When you are ready to save your changes, click the Update button.

Removing a Teacher

  • Scroll to the Teachers section at the bottom of the page and click the Trash can icon next to the educator you want to remove. Repeat this process to remove additional educators (if needed).

  • When you are ready to save your changes, click the Update button.
