As a teacher, school-level administrator, or district-level administrator in DreamBox Math, you may be able to edit student details from inside the teacher Settings section of your Math dashboard, like:
- Language (choose English or Spanish)
- Initial Placement (only before initial sign-in)
- Direct Login username
- Direct Login text password
- Direct Login picture password
- First name
- Last name
- Grade
- Gender Identity

DreamBox Math Administrators

Which Student Details Can I Edit?
Editing student information in your classroom will not change their information if they are enrolled in other classrooms.

Editing Student Details in the Roster Tab
To open your classroom roster in the Settings tab:
- Click the Settings icon in the top navigation pane, select the Roster tab, and if needed select a classroom in the Classrooms filter.
To edit student information in the classroom roster:
There are multiple fields you can edit inside your classroom roster. To edit student information:
- Click the field you want to edit and then either type your changes or select an option from the drop-down list.
- The updated text will turn green until you click the Update button to save your changes.

Updating Initial Placement
You can edit a student's initial placement level from the dashboard before they sign in and begin playing DreamBox. This will update their placement in DreamBox Math, not their enrolled (rostered) grade level, or the Grade field.
To update the Initial Placement field:
- Sign into your dashboard, select the Settings icon, and then click the Roster tab.
- Use the Classrooms filter to select the classroom you want to view.
- Click the down arrow and select the appropriate grade level.
If a student has already signed in for the first time, you cannot update their placement in the dashboard and need to contact DreamBox Customer Support for assistance. We would be happy to help you update the student's placement. |

Q: We use Clever to set up and update DreamBox Math rosters. Can teachers manually change a student's grade level for a student in their roster without impacting the Clever update? |
A: All updates to student account details like classroom and grade should be managed through your district IT team and Clever.
