Follow the tips in this article to help get your students logged in, placed in the program, and playing DreamBox Math.
Verify Your Classroom Information
The first time you log in to your DreamBox Math educator dashboard, review your classroom roster and settings to make sure they are correct. The links below provide detailed information on each item you should check.
Review your classroom rosters and adjust student details
Review and adjust student placement
A student's placement level determines where that student will start in either the Launchpad Assessment or the DreamBox Math curriculum. We recommend the following:
- For new-to-DreamBox Math students: Review and adjust students' Initial Placement levels in your dashboard before students log in for the first time.
| You can only update initial placement for students who have never logged in to DreamBox Math. |
-
For students who have logged in to DreamBox Math at least once: Review their Initial Standing level and progress in the Progress report before they start playing lessons again, or begin the Launchpad Assessment.
- If you think their current placement should be adjusted, please contact our Customer Support Team
- If they have not been placed (but have logged in), open your classroom roster and check their initial placement and grade level.
Confirm Student Sign-in Method and Details
Before you can prepare student devices, you need to know how your students will sign in to DreamBox Math. Students sign in to DreamBox Math in several ways:
- A Single Sign-On portal (SSO) like Clever, ClassLink, or your district portal or LMS using a text username and password, Clever Badge, or ClassLink QR code.
- Via Direct DreamBox Login either by a website address that is unique to your school (laptop, desktop computer, Chrome Book) or a unique school code (iPad).
- Via the Discovery Education (DE) sign-in page using a text username and password, QR code, or Single Sign-On (SSO) method like Google Classroom, Clever, or ClassLink (using either text username and password, Clever Badge, or ClassLink Quick Card)
Check with your DreamBox Math administrator if you are unsure which method your students will use.

Prepare Your Devices: Computers, Chromebooks & iPads
Desktops, laptops, and Chromebooks
If your students use laptop or desktop computers, make sure your school's login URL or single sign-on portal is saved as a bookmark on all computers the students will use.

iPads
If your students use iPads, make sure the most current version of the DreamBox Math app has been downloaded. If they will sign in via DreamBox make sure the school code has been entered on each iPad. You can find specific instructions on downloading or updating the app here.
Practice Signing In As a Student
Ideally, you will familiarize yourself with the student login process to make sure everything is set up and you are ready to help students and families.
| If your students log in via Single Sign-On the district may not have a set of test student credentials for you to fully complete the sign-in process, but you can walk through the steps of the sign-in process before entering student credentials. |
If your students log in via Direct DreamBox login, either open the articles linked below or continue to read to learn how to log in as one of your students.
What Will Students See When They Sign In?
